Kibo Residences Debuts in Williamsburg DECEMBER 2025: More Than Architecture — A Philosophy of Living Rooted in Simplicity and Authenticity

L3 Capital Group proudly announces the debut of Kibo Residences, a six-floor, eight-unit boutique development in the heart of Williamsburg. The project translates the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi into architectural form — celebrating restraint, material honesty, and the quiet beauty of imperfection. More than architecture, Kibo embodies a philosophy of living — where simplicity and authenticity converge to create spaces that nurture the soul.

Design & Development Vision

Kibo was envisioned by L3 Capital Group and brought to life by FWS Work*, an award-winning,  interdisciplinary design studio known for its poetic, material-driven approach.. Together, they treated the building as both structure and experience — one that invites reflection, stillness, and sensory connection.

*FWS Work has been recognized internationally with the 2024 Architizer A+ Award (Residential / Apartment category, Jury Winner) and the 2023 Dezeen Awards longlist for Home Interiors.

“Kibo reflects our belief that architecture and design should create calm — not spectacle,” says YuHsiang Fu, Founder of FWS Work. “Rooted in the Wabi-Sabi philosophy, we sought beauty in imperfection and emotion in material honesty — spaces that feel alive in their stillness and complete in their incompleteness.”

The architecture, executed by Tang Studios Architect LLC as Executive Architect, preserves the building’s integrity in a thoughtful adaptive reuse, while introducing moments of modernity and spatial harmony. From structure to stillness, the design enhances the building’s inherent character rather than overwriting it — celebrating patina, proportion, and the intimacy of lived-in material surfaces.

A defining feature of Kibo is its 22-foot-tall double-height atrium — a luminous vertical volume that fills the interiors with shifting daylight and a rare sense of openness. Each of the eight residences — a refined collection of Triplex “Townhouses,” Loft-Style Apartments, and Duplex Penthouses — is conceived as a gallery-like home where architecture, art, and ritual converge. Natural stone, oak, and plaster combine with sculptural lighting, limewash walls, and bespoke millwork to create spatial compositions that feel both timeless and alive.

Unit sizes vary from approximately 1,000 to 2,500 square feet, with completion anticipated in November 2025.

Creative Collaborations

Kibo Residences unites a community of creators whose work bridges design, craft, and emotion. Interior environments curated in collaboration with L3CG Gallery integrate collectible furniture, art, and objects into everyday living. Partnerships with design brands including Balmuda, FAIR, Ligne Roset, AREA, and Madera extend Kibo’s dialogue between architecture and lifestyle — transforming each home into a living narrative of design intention and material presence.

The Launch Experience

The Kibo Launch Experience unfolds as a meditation on sustainability and the evolving role of design in modern life. Each phase explores how material reuse, craftsmanship, and mindful production can redefine luxury through consciousness rather than excess.

  • November 2025 — Soft Previews: Intimate brand activations and behind-the-scenes features introduce Kibo’s partners and process.

  • December 4, 2025 — The Unveiling: A private event transforming all eight residences into an immersive living gallery. Multi-brand design installations, light bites, and interactive digital guides welcome press, partners, and guests into the world of Kibo.

  • December 2025 – January 2026 — Public Programs: Ongoing weekend tours, private showings, and rotating collaborations continue to evolve the narrative of art, architecture, and sustainable design in residence.

A New Standard for Boutique Living

Located at 155 Hope Street, Kibo Residences introduces a new standard of boutique condominium living in Williamsburg. Every space — from the grand atrium to the most intimate corner — is a study in proportion, material depth, and serenity. Through its integration of architecture, design, and cultural expression, Kibo stands as a testament to a new era of urban living: refined, intentional, and deeply human.
